About Clark Spurrier

Clark Spurrier is a strategic advisor in the technology sector. Over a distinguished 35-year career, he has advised industry leaders through every major wave of technological transformation, establishing a reputation as a trusted strategist and influential thought leader at the forefront of innovation.


His work has included advising many of the pioneering companies and executives who shaped the Internet, B2B software, financial technology (FinTech), and defense technology sectors. He continues to advise founders, executives, and investors across these core markets while also counseling clients on emerging technologies that are redefining the next generation of enterprise and national security capabilities.


Before beginning his advisory career, Clark served as an Army paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, the XVIII Airborne Corps, and the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM). His service in these elite organizations instilled a disciplined, mission-focused approach and fostered an entrepreneurial mindset grounded in initiative, innovation, and creative problem-solving under demanding conditions. Those principles have shaped his work advising technology leaders for more than three decades.




Advisory

With more than 35 years of technology investment banking experience, Clark has advised on and executed over 200 transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, common stock and convertible offerings, private placements, and restructuring assignments.


Clark is a trusted advisor to private equity investors, senior management teams, and corporate boards across the technology sector. His deep industry expertise, extensive transaction experience, and longstanding relationships with leading technology-focused private equity firms and strategic acquirers have enabled him to deliver transformational, award-winning outcomes for his clients.


Clark was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Spurrier Capital Partners (SCP), a technology-focused investment bank he established in 2009. SCP was acquired by Lincoln International in 2022. Earlier in his career, Clark was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, where he established the firm’s business-to-business software and financial technology practices within its Global Technology Group. He was also a founding member of the technology investment banking group at J.P. Morgan and held senior leadership positions at Thomas Weisel Partners and CIBC World Markets.



Military Service

Clark was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant upon graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Following completion of Airborne School, he joined the 82nd Airborne Division, where he commanded Ground Surveillance Radar (GSR) and Remote Sensor (REMS) platoons and served as Battalion Intelligence Officer (S2) for the 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He later served as Aide-de-Camp to Brigadier General Raphael Hallada and Brigadier General Carmen Cavezza within the 82nd Airborne Division Command Group under the leadership of Major General Carl Steiner.


Clark subsequently trained for and deployed to the Middle East in support of Operation Prime Chance, the first operational mission conducted under the newly established United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM). Clark deployed as the Intelligence and Operations Officer for Task Force 118, a joint special operations task force that included elements of Task Force 160 (the Night Stalkers), U.S. Navy SEAL teams, and other specialized units.


Following his return to Fort Bragg, Clark assumed command of the Counterintelligence Company of the XVIII Airborne Corps, providing leadership for a specialized intelligence organization supporting one of the Army’s premier expeditionary formations.


Clark is a Master Parachutist with 77 airborne jumps. He is a graduate of the United States Air Force Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) School and completed the U.S. Army Jungle Warfare School with the 2/505 PIR.

Education

Clark holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
